nakhel

Yesterday, I saw glowing amethyst
among the autumn colours
in my back yard.
This solitary lupin nestled close
to the firewood drying for the winter.
In Southern Tutchone dialects cottonwood is called:
laju; lajyu; or dan t'u.
Flowers are nakhel.
